The National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS), launched by the Indian Government, is an initiative to bridge the gap between the skill sets possessed by the youth and the industry's requirements. This scheme aims to create a skilled workforce, which will help enhance productivity and contribute to the nation's economic growth.
Through this scheme, the government offers financial incentives to industries that provide apprenticeship training to eligible candidates. The scheme also provides stipends to the apprentices, which makes it easier for them to pursue the training without worrying about financial constraints.
Apart from providing industry-relevant training, apprenticeships under NAPS also equip the youth with soft skills and industry-specific knowledge, making them job-ready for the future.
The National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme is a game-changer for the Indian youth. It creates job opportunities and ensures that the youth are equipped with the necessary skills to succeed in the competitive job market. This initiative is a step towards building a skilled and employable workforce that will contribute to the growth and development of the nation.
Join the revolution and the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme to unleash your potential and secure a successful future.

The National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) is a government initiative in India launched in 2016 to promote apprenticeship training in the country. It aims to provide financial incentives to employers to encourage them to hire apprentices and provide training.
All employers in India who are registered with the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) and who provide apprenticeship training in designated trades are eligible for the scheme. The apprentices must be between the ages of 18 and 45 and should have completed their minimum educational qualifications.
The scheme's benefits include financial incentives to employers to encourage them to hire apprentices, reimbursement of training costs, and a platform to connect employers with potential apprentices.
The scheme has the following two components:
Apprenticeship training is a course of training in any industry or establishment. Apprenticeship training consists of basic training and on-the-job training (OJT)/practical training at the workplace.
Basic training consists of theoretical and practical instructions for the trade where on-the-job training is to be imparted. It is mandatory for those who have not done any formal training in an ITI or in those courses under PMKVY/MES which have been granted equivalence with basic training.
The duration of basic training is 1/5th to 1/4th of the overall duration of apprenticeship training. The remaining period will be utilized for the on-the-job training component.
Anyone who has completed 14 years of age, is physically fit, and has minimum educational qualification prescribed for a trade can undergo apprenticeship training.
Yes, registration of an apprenticeship contract is required for designated trades, but it is not required for optional trades. However, to get benefits under NAPS, registration of apprenticeship contracts for optional trades has been made mandatory.
